Helen Gillespie Principal

 

 

 



Helen Gillespie is a specialist in business and marketing communications for high technology, with expertise in hardware, software and peripheral products as well as information systems. She has written numerous guides, collateral, articles, and newsletters, as well as a launched the premier directory for Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) called LIMSource.com, and published the LIMS/Letter quarterly newsletter for the LIMS community. She combines strong planning, organization, problem-solving, and execution skills with a pragmatic, creative approach.

Before starting Source Communicative (formerly Write Away Communications), she was employed as a business communications manager, marketing communications manager, sales support manager, and senior writer/editor for high technology companies such as Lockheed Martin, Varian Associates, Allergan Humphrey, PacTel Spectrum Systems, and Tymnet.

She received a B.A. degree with Honors in English from California State University, Chico in California, and pursued graduate studies in folklore at the University of Sheffield in England. She is a member of the American Society for Quality Control (ASQ), the Commonwealth Club, and the Business Marketing Association (BMA). She has achieved the BMA's Certified Business Communicator (CBC) designation, pursued certification as a Lead Assessor for ISO 9000 quality systems, and has written a book entitled "Implementing ISO 9000" for McGraw-Hill's professional book division. She has also served as Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Cultural Arts Council of Sonoma County and chairman of their Exhibits Committee.
